About Paul McErlane Photography


Paul McErlane is a professional photographer whose news-making pictures of news-breaking international events are carried by print and online media across the globe.
Paul started his career with the Belfast Telegraph in 1990 progressed through the ranks of Global Wires Services of the Associated Press (AP) & the Press Association (PA), Reuters, Bloomberg News and European Pressphoto Agency (EPA).  

As a County Antrim-based freelance for 29 years, his burgeoning portfolio spans creative, corporate, editorial and architectural commissions, as well as magazine assignments and private work. He has published in virtually every top newspaper and magazine worldwide including Time, Newsweek, USA Today, International Herald Tribune, London Times, New York Times and is a regular contributor to the (London) Financial Times, the Guardian and Queen's University Belfast.

He has extensive experience of managing and organising team and solo photographic coverage of large-scale public events, individual studio work, outdoor photo-shoots and fly-on-the-wall pictorial work. Paul's approach is visually distinctive. His work captures fleeting moments which elude the sharpest lenses of other visual media.
