Bush on Monday, June 16, 2008. easyJet today celebrated the 10th anniversary of the start of its operations in Northern Ireland. The low cost carrier said a big thank-you to the nearly 24 million people it has carried in and out of the province since starting up at Belfast International Airport. The first route was to London Luton - the airline now flies to 21 domestic and European destinations. Chief executive Andy Harrison was at the airport to join celebrations with staff and recalled that easyJet was the first airline to bring low-cost travel to Northern Ireland.
